Traveling through Australia is an adventure and being Down Under was the most exciting and beautiful time of my life. You're still hesitating to go there? I tell you to do so! You won't regret the decision to visit amazing OZ. You will come back with another view on things and loads of positive energy.

The plans for your time there are pretty important for unforgettable memories. You want to have the time of your life? You should definitely do a lot of tours like I did. One of these tours has been my trip to Fraser Island – the world's biggest sand island.

Money: For a three days tour (two nights) from Rainbow Beach to Fraser Island I paid round about 320 Euro. Food, the car, fuel and the nights in the camp are included.

Extra-costs: You just have to pay extra money if you want to buy extra food. And the night before heading off to the island from Dingo's is also exclusive.

Booked with: I planned my trip with the travel agency Peter Pans.

Pro guided Fraser Island tour:

    • The tour is guided, so you don't have to worry about driving at the beach by your own and the different stops
    • You get to know other people (we are 8 poeple in each car)
    • The costs are fine because you don't have to pay for the car, fuel or the camping ground and neither for food

Contra guided tour:

    • Less possibilities to decide on your own what you want to do and for how long you want to stay
    • No chance to choose the people you will travel with

BEFORE

We meet one day before we go to Fraser Island. The comprehensive briefing on the day before the tour will provide information to prepare us for the journey. Here we are placed into groups and have the opportunity to organise sleeping bag hire and special dietary requirements.

Important to know: To drive on Fraser you must be 21 or older with a full manual license. You must have held this license for a minimum of 1 year and you must have the license with you. I don't have an international licence but that's okay.

DAY 1 – OFF TO FRASER ISLAND

We begin with a morning brief at Dingo's Resort where we cover the following: Pack cars and check equipment. At 9:30 in the morning we depart for Fraser Island. We drive approx 10 minutes to the ferry and board for our 10 minute barge crossing. After that we arrive on the world's biggest sand island, we then drive for 1 hour to the Eurong resort along 75 Mile beach. We then drive to the beginning of the Lake Wabby walk, where we walk through the sand dunes to this tropical paradise! In the small lake in the middle of the dunes there are tiny, little fishes in the water cleaning the skin. Lunch follows our trip to Lake Wabby, before we begin our drive down the beach to the camp.

DAY 2 – INDIAN HEAD AND ELI CREEK

Arise in the morning for a quick breakfast in our camp before we begin our busiest day on Fraser Island. We head off to see Indian Head, Fraser Island's highest point. From here we can see sharks and dolphins in the ocean, before we travel to Champagne pools! After that we drive to Eli creek, a beautifully clear creek perfect for a relaxing swim. It is also possible to drink the creek's water because it is so clear and clean. In the afternoon we travel back to camp for dinner and drinks. The group is so much fun – love it!

DAY 3 – LAKE McKENZIE

Another highlight!  We drive to the famous Lake McKenzie. Here we stop for some lunch, and for some quality time to have a play in the amazing clear waters. After that we have a look at the popular wreck and then heading back to Dingo's. The Fraser Island tour was so much fun and I'm happy I had the chance to see the beautiful nature out there. Pretty impressive, don't miss it! ;-*
